We are honored to share the final program for the workshop:

******

We were delighted to invite researchers to submit papers for the international workshop celebrating the launch of the network on Welfare & Policy in Latin America and the Caribbean (WAPLAC), which took place at the University of Costa Rica in San José on 9–10 May 2024.

This two-day conference aimed to take stock of recent research on fiscal and welfare policies, inequality, wellbeing, labor market dynamics, support for democracy, and other social outcomes in LAC. Contributions focused especially on the progress made by the expansion of socio-fiscal policies in the region and the challenges faced in implementing sustainable welfare policies from a multidimensional perspective.

Submission guideline: A full paper or an extended abstract had to be submitted before 29 February 2024 to h.x.jara-tamayo@lse.ac.uk and david.rivera-gonzalez@u-bordeaux.fr (The name of the pdf had to begin with the corresponding authors’ last name). We also encouraged submissions of complete sessions (4 papers) indicating the name of the corresponding chairperson.
