More About us

The Network on Welfare & Policy in Latin America and the Caribbean (LAC) is a platform that aims to bring together scholars and practitioners throughout LAC countries and International partners around a multitutde of working themes.  The core research groups are namely working on tax-benefits, income distribution, labor markets, political economy.

Some of the groundbreaking work of WAPLAC members is being conducted on the role of welfare policies on labor market dynamics, individual and collective well being, social preferences, support for democracy, electoral dynamics, and other outcomes. Hence, WAPLAC is an initiative to federate national and international research on welfare. The other objectives are to,  increase visibility of research on these areas and to encourage collaborations between members of WAPLAC. This is mainly due to the fact the we firmly believe that the main wealth of WAPLAC is human as it represents the interconnectivity of a broad community of researchers and policy analysts.

The structure of the network is as follows:

National team members // From different LAC countries

 Rotating Management Comittee

 Steering Comittee

• Institutional Partners

• EU Partners

Joining the network has no cost! IF you have any questions please feel free to contact us through the dedicated tab on the website.
Sincerely,

WAPLAC Management Committee.
