Mathieu is a first-year PhD student at Bordeaux School of Economics (University of Bordeaux, France). His research explores the causes and consequences of violence and the fear of violence in Latin America, using a multidisciplinary approach combining development economics, political economy and sociology. Mathieu is currently working on the long-term consequences of dictatorships, taking the case of Chile in particular.
