Yadira is a researcher on Welfare and Poverty measurement, Health Economics and Regional Development. Currently, she is the Deputy Secretary for Public Policies at the Planning Secretariat in Bogotá. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the University of Essex, and has worked for many different developing countries' governments as a consultant hired by different multilateral organizations such as the World Bank, the IADB and the UNDP. Yadira has published in several internationally peer reviewed academic journals, and is a member of the Colombian Experts' Committee on Monetary and Multidimensional Poverty Measurement.
