Sofia holds a PhD in Economics from the University of Antwerp, a MSc from the University of Rotterdam and a BSc from Universidad de la República (Uruguay). She is currently working for the European Commission in projects related to the fairness challenges of the green transition, energy poverty, the distributional effect of inflation and gender pay gaps. She is also a member of the EUROMDO team, actively working on the development and integration of the ITT (Indirect Tax Tool) extension and leading the Green EUROMOD project (that incorporates carbon footprints).
