
Alejandro Puerta-Cuartas
Alejandro is a PhD candidate in Economics at Universidad Carlos III de Madrid. He is an applied econometrician whose research focuses on intergenerational mobility, complemented by a strong interest in theoretical econometrics and broader applications in development economics. His thesis develops methods to study intergenerational income mobility, integrating locally robust, semi-parametric inference with machine learning. He has worked as a consultant for the Inter-American Development Bank on fiscal planning and regional efficiency in poverty reduction, and for the World Bank, examining the impacts of climate and environmental shocks on poverty.
