Blanca is the director of the doctoral program in Economics and Administrative Sciences at Icesi University in Cali- Colombia and is an associate professor in the Economics department at the same university. Her research interests are poverty, inequality, gender and ethnic gaps. She holds a Ph.D. in Economics from the Catholic university of Leuven. She is currently a member of the Colombian Experts' Committee on Monetary and Multidimensional Poverty Measurement.
