
Cesar Octavio Vargas Téllez
Cesar is full-time Professor in the Department of Institutional Studies at the Universidad Autonoma Metropolitana (UAM), Cuajimalpa campus, where he previously served as Department Head.
He is a member of the National System of Researchers (SNI), Level I. He currently serves on the Academic Advisory Council of the National Institute of Statistics and Geography (INEGI), representing the Rector of the UAM. Member of the microsimulation model TEAM MEXMOD, launched in 2021.He is also a member of the economics expert panel: México ¿Cómo Vamos? (Mexico, How Are We Doing?).
He holds a PhD in Applied Economics from the Autonomous University of Barcelona, a Master's degree in Business Economics, Banking and Finance from the University of Portsmouth, UK, a Master's degree in Economics from the Center for Economic Research and Teaching (CIDE), and a Bachelor's degree in Economics from the National Autonomous University of Mexico (UNAM). His research interests include institutions and economic development, firms and regulation, and inequality and distributive policies.
