Professor, researcher and economic analyst. Previously, he has served as Vice-Minister of Economy of Ecuador, Director of the Center for Economic Research and Director of the Laboratory of Experimental and Behavioral Economics-LEE at the Department of Social Sciences and Humanities at Escuela Superior Politécnica del Litoral-ESPOL, Ecuador. He holds a PhD in Economics from Texas A&M University and as a Fulbright/SENACYT scholar he obtained his Master of Science in Economics from the same institution. He also holds a Bachelor’s degree from the Pontificia Universidad Católica del Ecuador, Quito. As a professor and researcher he has collaborated with academic institutions such as: Texas A&M University, ESPOL, UDLA, UTPL and UArtes. His research focuses on public finances, applied macro and microeconomics, econometrics, public policy evaluation and development. He has several publications in different national and international journals and also serves as reviewer of different scientific journals. As a private consultant he has worked in development projects with public and private institutions, among those: Interamerican Development Bank-IDB, Ecuadorian Development Bank, Unicef, World Intellectual Property Organization, World Bank, COSEDE, Ministry of Economy and Finances of Ecuador, Ministry of Environmental Resources, Chamber of Industry and Production, Hexagon Consultores, Ecociencia, Cervecería Nacional S.A. and Diners Club of Ecuador S.A.S.F.
