Olivier Bargain

Olivier is Professor of Economics at the University of Bordeaux and member of the Institut Universitaire de France. He is also a Research Fellow at IZA and LISER. His research covers topics in development, public and labor economics. He has been associate editor of the Journal of Economic Inequality and coeditor of the book series Research in Labor Economics. Former member of the Council of Economic Advisors to the French Prime Minister, he is now director of the research department 'Behavior, Organizations and Policy Evaluation' at Bordeaux University. He has acted as expert on labor markets, tax and social protection systems ( and their impact on inequality, poverty and labor market behavior), intra-household inequality and well-being measurement for various administrations and international organizations including the World Bank, the European Commission and the OECD.
